THE SCHOOL
Summer 2010

- Post-academy courses
- Intermediate courses
- Basic courses

The post-academy courses are designed primarily for students who are graduated from an academies of art. They will be taught by highly qualified artists, both Italian and foreign, with the spirit of a "Renaissance Workshop" being recreated in order to lead the students through their exploration of art. The period of residence for these courses will be no less than a month.

The intermediate and basic-level courses may be taken by students who are specifically interested in painting and sculpture but do not wish to follow a full course of study at an academy. These courses provide the students the opportunity to be closely supervised as they gain in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. The sessions are intensive, with the students testing their skills through the practical application of techniques. At the end of the courses there will be group critiques of the work done, with a summary of the final write-ups and the presentation of certificates of completed study.
The work sessions scheduled for performance en plein air call for excursions to the Forest of Lamone and Lake Bolsena , enchanting sites that will definitely provide inspiration.
Each course can accept a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 10. Students who wish to explore their subjects in further depth and extend their stays for an additional week should make reservations sufficiently far in advance.
The lessons will be held primarily in the morning, providing those who wish to discover the surrounding area, so rich in interest, with the chance to do so.
As a rule, the lessons will began at 9:30 am, following breakfast.
Lunch will be served at 1:30 pm and dinner at 8:30 pm. The art studios will remain open for those who wish to continue working beyond the lesson times.

The open courses organised at Borgo Rinascimento are aimed at individuals interested in practicing the arts and either obtaining fundamental instruction or further developing previous experiences, as well as at young people who wish to prepare for the admissions examinations to art academies.
All the teachers have lengthy experience in the field of education, making them highly qualified to oversee courses at various levels.
They will guide their students in working with and learning about classical painting, figurative-fantastical painting and informal and material painting through the study of a variety of themes.
